Alamance Christian School (ACS) has been approved for renewal of accreditation by the North Carolina Christian School Association (NCCSA) effective July 1, 2012.
NCCSA accreditation provides a benchmark for Christian schools which measures standards, performance, integrity, and quality. Schools engage in a voluntary process of self-evaluation against accepted best practices and educational standards. This evaluative process involved the visit of an accreditation team of Christian education professionals who scrutinized the following areas: philosophy and administration, personnel, curriculum and pedagogy, assessment, fiscal management, facility and safety, and special services. The accreditation process is designed to assist schools in achieving a standard of excellence and provides the framework for the on-going School Improvement Program (SIP) of the school.
The NCCSA accreditation program has been formally recognized by the North Carolina Division of Non-Public Education and is also approved by the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA) through a co-accreditation agreement with the North American Christian School Accrediting Agency (NACSAA). As part of the onsite team visit, a representative of the NACSAA participated in the peer review and report writing process. As a member of the National Council for Private School Accreditation, NACSAA partners with the Middle States Association Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) to provide co-accreditation to NCCSA and NACSAA member schools desiring to pursue regional accreditation.
