ACS CHORIC SPEAKERS:  NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!

The ACS Choric Speakers brought home their fifth NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP from the AACS Fine Arts competition held at Bob Jones University April 14-17. Fifteen schools from across the country competed in choric speaking—which over the past seven or eight years has become an extremely popular and competitive category at the competition.

After making it through the first round on Wednesday, the finalists were announced.   ACS was up against a strong New Jersey team—the winners from last year—as well as a highly competitive school from Georgia and three other schools.

Knowing they had done their best, ACS went to the awards ceremony Thursday night hopeful…but not expecting anything.  We were thrilled as the placements were announced, and ACS came out on top!  We praise the Lord for this exciting victory and thank Him for these 11 young men and their dedication to our Fine Arts Department!

READER’S THEATRE MAKES IT TO NATIONALS

The ACS Reader’s Theatre team consisted of six talented young ladies performing a cutting from Louisa May Alcott’s celebrated book, LITTLE WOMEN.  Winning at the state level, the girls went to nationals knowing that there would be stiff competition from 16 different states.  Although our ladies did not make it to the final round, they did an outstanding job—proudly representing our Lord, our school, and our state.

Competing against 18 state winners across the country AND taking three tests at nationals, Nathanael Andersen was named NATIONAL CHAMPION at the recent AACS Fine Arts competition.  We praise the Lord for His kindness in this, our first national win, in the area of Biology!

MADELINE WHITE PLACES SECOND AT NATIONAL COMPETITION

Fifteen states were represented in the poetry category at Nationals earlier this month, and ACS’s Madeline White performed her way to the final round and was then named the national runner-up during the award’s ceremony—representing the Lord, our school, and our state in excellent style.  We thank the Lord for this win—our first in the area of poetry—at the national level
