By-Laws of the Alamance Christian School Parent-Teacher-Fellowship
Article I. Name
Section 1.01 The name of this association shall be The Alamance Christian School Parent-Teacher-Fellowship,
Article II. Purpose
Section 2.01 To give to the children of Alamance Christian School an Academic education along with a Christian education.
Section 2.02 To raise the standards of education above that available in public schools without placing a financial burden on
parents.
Section 2.03 To work in harmony with parents, teachers, school board members, administrator and the principal to achieve the
ultimate in a Christian education.
Article III. Policies
Section 3.01 This fellowship will work with the school board in any and all ways the board sees fit to make
Section 3.02 This fellowship shall be non-commercial and non-partisan. It shall not endorse any commercial enterprise or any
political candidates or any political organization. The name of the fellowship or the names of any members or
officials shall not be used in any connection with any commercial enterprise or any political candidate or political
organization.
Section 3.03 The fellowship shall not seek to direct the administrative activities of the school nor control its policies.
Article IV. Membership & Dues
Section 4.01 Any parent or guardian with a child or children enrolled in
PTF.
Section 4.02 There will be no dues required for membership in the PTF. A free-will offering will be taken at each meeting of the
PTF. All teachers, board members and administrative personnel connected with
a member of the PTF.
Article V. Officers and Their Election
Section 5.01 The officers of this fellowship shall be a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, program chairman and
fund-raising chairman.
Section 5.02 Officers shall be elected by ballot annually at the last scheduled PTF meeting of the school year.
Section 5.03 New officers shall assume their duties at the close of the last scheduled meeting of the school year.
Section 5.04 Officers shall not succeed themselves in the same office or jobs.
Section 5.05 There shall be a nominating committee consisting of six people: the principal, a school board member, a teacher,
and three parents other than the principal, the other three shall be nominated from the floor at the next to last
scheduled meeting of the school year.
Section 5.06 The nominating committee shall elect a chairman of this committee and select one nominee for each office to be
filled and report at the last meeting of the school year.
Section 5.07 Following report of the nominating committee of the nominee’s for office an opportunity for additional nominee’s
from the floor shall be made.
Section 5.08 Only those who have consented to serve if elected shall be eligible for nomination.
Section 5.09 Popular vote will decide officers. If more than one nomination for one office is received, election will be done by
secret ballot.
Section 5.10 Any vacancy in any office may and shall be filled for the unexpired term by someone designated by the executive
board and elected by a simple majority vote of the executive board. In the event of a vacancy of the office of
president, the vice-president will assume duties of the office of president.
Section 5.11 Officers’ terms will be for three years. Two officers will rotate off each year, leaving four that will have served the
previous year, two of those having served the year prior to that.
Article VI. Duties of Officers
Section 6.01 President: To conduct all PTF business meetings and assist in any way he/she can to benefit the school or the
school’s program.
Section 6.02 Vice-President: To assume duties of president if for any reason the president cannot perform his/her duties. To
assist in any way he/she can to benefit the school or the school’s program.
Section 6.03 Secretary: To be present at all PTF meetings with a complete report of minutes from the last business meeting.
He/she will read these minutes aloud at the meeting for correction and approval.
Section 6.04 Treasurer: To be responsible for all money received and spent through fund raising and PTF business. A record of
all funds received and spent is to be recorded and available for audit by vice-president. Records will be audited by
vice-president at the end of the first semester and at the end of the school year, before records are turned over
to newly elected officers.
Section 6.05 Fund Raising Chairman: To be responsible for all fund-raising projects. All projects are to be cleared through this
person, who will, in turn, clear them with the school board chairman before the projects are started. A written
report of each project, money received, expenses and profit will be turned over to the treasurer along with profits
for deposit.
Section 6.06 Program Chairman: Will be responsible for the programs for all PTF meetings. This person should work with the
principal so all programs will be in conjunction with Christian and School principals.
Article VII. Meetings
Section 7.01 Regular meetings of the fellowship shall be held at least six times during the school year. Dates for these meetings
shall be given to the membership at the first scheduled meeting.
Article VIII. Executive Committee
Section 8.01 The executive committee shall consist of the officers of the fellowship, the Principal or someone designated by the
Principal.
Section 8.02 The duties of the executive committee shall be to work on behalf of the fellowship and the school. To approve
expenditures, not to exceed $100.00. Any expenditures of more than $100.00 should be voted on and approved by
the fellowship members.
Section 8.03 The executive committee should meet 30 minutes prior to scheduled meeting start time to discuss any business it
may have.
Article IX. Amendments
Section 9.01 The bylaws may be amended at any regularly scheduled meeting of the association. A two-thirds vote of the
members voting will carry the proposed amendment, provided that the proposed amendment was distributed to the
members at the previous meeting.
