Grammar Reminders
- Limit the use of “I"
- Start phrases with a verb, if possible
- Be consistent with verbs and punctuation
- All headings should be consistently followed by a colon or not
- Spell check and read for content
Formatting Checklist
- No birth date or social security number
- Include an objective in a targeted resume
- Try to keep to one page
- Margins should be 1 to 1.25 inches all around
- Use 12 point type
- Use good paper – white or off white
- Leave out negative comments
- Be honest
- Proofread carefully
