A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on August 31 at 9:15 a.m. for the newly renovated Alamance Christian School science lab with the help of several people from the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce. Invited dignitaries attending included Jimmy Linens, Mayor pro tem of Graham; Chris Rollins, Graham City Manager; and Linda Massey, Chair of the Alamance Commissioners. Dale Page, Vice President of the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce introduced the event by giving some historical background.
After greetings from area government representatives, ACS Administrator, Daniel Freeman, spoke briefly. He emphasized the fact that the ACS science lab is dedicated to advancement of science to the glory of God and that the school interprets science in the light of a literal understanding of Genesis chapter one. He further went on to thank various individuals whose contribution ensured the success of the project including Kim Ingle, a private Charitable Foundation, the Alamance Christian School Parent Teacher Fellowship, Paul Davis, Justin Moody, and Darrell Kidd. Lab Corp was the only corporate donor to give toward this project and was represented at the event by Theresa Mansfield.
