Volunteer Opportunities

Governor’s Page Program

The Governor’s Page Program is a year round program established in 1973 to provide opportunities for high school students to spend a week in Raleigh to learn the roles and functions of state government.  Students must be between 15 and 18 years of age.  For an application and more information please call the Page Coordinator at 1800-820-4483.

Teen Court

Teen Court is a program designed to teach first-offenders accountability for their actions.  Defendants who admit their guilt are sentenced by a jury of their peers (trained student volunteers between the ages of 12 and 18), without acquiring a Juvenile Court Record.  Teenagers also perform the duties of prosecuting and defense attorneys, court clerk and baliff.

Special Olympics

Special Olympics is a wonderful organization where you can volunteer your time and receive an incredible gift in return - a hug from a special child.  If you are interested in volunteering please visit the North Carolina chapter of the Special Olympics at www.sonc.net

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity builds homes for those who might otherwise not be able to have a home.  Volunteer a couple Saturdays a year! Contact the Alamance County Habitat for Humanity office at 336-222-8191
