There's a saying that you can never truly go home again. But, here, at Alamance Christian School, a dedicated group of faculty and staff prove that notion incorrect. Currently, we have a cohort of nearly 20 alumni working in various full-time capacities at the school.
Across every corner of our campus—from the administrative offices to classrooms to the athletic fields—a collection of alumni, spanning every decade of school history, have returned to lead, teach, and mentor the next generation. This alumni influence is even stronger when you consider those on the school’s board of directors (6), substitute teacher roster (4), contractors who work for the school (2), and part-time bus drivers (1).
These dedicated individuals are more than just employees, because they are the students who once walked these halls, learned in these classrooms, and competed for the Warrior Legacy. Their decision to return is the ultimate testament to the transformative power of a Christian education based on a Biblical worldview. Their presence also speaks to the enduring strength of our community as the school was more than a learning center then and, now, is more than a workplace - it’s a ministry for Jesus Christ.
This connection runs deep, building continuity between the past and present. Having experienced the school from the inside, our alumni staff possess a unique institutional knowledge—they know the school’s history, cherish its traditions, and intimately understand the student journey. Whether it's Victoria Briggs (‘19) inspiring elementary students as their assistant or Mike Loflin (‘87) leading the whole school, their love of the Lord and firsthand understanding of the student experience shape decisions and interactions.
For them, fostering a thriving environment is more than a professional goal because it is a commitment to preserving the cherished values that defined their own years at ACS. As Mr. Loflin, the Head of School, said, "There's something special about returning to a place that helped form you. Alamance feels like home - not just because it's familiar, but because the mission still matters." His wife also teaches as the school and they believe that "Alamance isn't simply where we work - it's a shared calling!"
The collective impact of this dedicated group is felt daily across all departments. From the coaches like Josh Howard (‘02) and Joe Bailey (‘05) who instill passion on the court, to the support staff like Tina Snow (‘84) and Michele Bailey (‘03) who ensure the smooth operation of school functions, to Dian Frazier (‘82) who, behind the scenes, looks after children when they do not feel well, these alumni are weaving themselves into the very fabric of our school's future.
They are the living link between our past, our present, and our future, ensuring that the Warrior Legacy continues to grow, develop, and inspire. We celebrate the approximately 20 alumni who chose to return to where their educational journey began, embodying the best of what it means to be a member of the Warrior Legacy.
