Secondary

(Grades 6-12)

For more than 50 years, ACS has been equipping students with a strong academic foundation, a Christ-centered worldview, and the confidence to live out their faith in today’s world. Our secondary program builds on that tradition by preparing young men and women to think critically, lead boldly, and live faithfully.

A Safe Place to Grow

Parents choose ACS because they want more than academics—they want a safe environment for their children. At ACS, safety is multi-layered: physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual. Students know they are cared for, challenged, and prayed for daily by teachers who want God’s best for their lives.

Our Mission in Action

We believe the students of this community are intelligent, capable, and full of potential. With the right shaping, they will be the future leaders of this county and beyond. At ACS, students learn to think deeply, communicate clearly, and look others in the eye with confidence and respect.

Mr. Watkins reminds us: “If a graduate walks across our stage and they have not been shown Jesus every day, then we have failed.”

Academic Rigor with Purpose

Our curriculum is both rigorous and balanced while being infused with technology as every student is issued a Chromebook. Middle school students can expect about 10 minutes of nightly study in each subject, while high school students can expect about 20 minutes. On Wednesday evenings, adjustments are made to allow families to attend church together. Our focus is not on busywork, but on helping students master core content and apply it in real-life situations. For those who need extra support, we provide instructional assistance, with about 10% of our students taking advantage of this opportunity.

God-Centered Learning

We stand unapologetically on the Word of God. ACS is not simply a private school—we are a Christian school, committed to teaching from a biblical worldview. That means Scripture shapes both our academics and our approach to discipline. We affirm that there is no conflict between Scripture and science, but if a conflict were ever to appear, Scripture is our final authority.

Students enjoy a wide range of electives, including foreign language, pottery, weightlifting, and physical education. They also participate in opportunities beyond the classroom with fine arts, athletics (7 sports for young men and women), and community service projects, developing their talents while serving others.

What Sets ACS Apart

While ACS is not for everyone, we do partner with families who support a biblical worldview and desire a Christ-centered education.

  • Biblical Worldview: Every subject, every interaction, every decision is rooted in Scriptural principles.

  • Caring Teachers: Our teachers invest in students’ growth, pray with and for them, and prepare them to live as Christians in a secular society.

  • Whole-Person Development: We nurture mind, body, and spirit, preparing students for both college and life to fulfill the purpose God has for them.

  • Cost-Effective Education: According to a Research.com article, our tuition is below the national average, so students receive tremendous value at ACS.
