The teenage years are a critical junction where academic preparation meets personal identity. At Alamance Christian School, we understand that families are looking for more than a rigorous curriculum—they want a trusted, Christ-centered environment where students are mentored through life's biggest questions, pushed toward scholastic excellence, and equipped to discover their God-given potential.
Two Sections, One Vision
With both middle and high school anchored on our Graham campus, these students stand as the mature leaders of our entire multi-campus school family.
- Present Leadership: Our Middle and High School principal and faculty maintain an active, daily presence in the lives of our students—mentoring them both in and out of the classroom.
- Intentional Worship: Students gather weekly for divisional chapel services designed to challenge their faith, spark deep theological thinking, and foster authentic corporate worship.
- Unified Community: From school-wide pep rallies to cross-campus volunteer initiatives, our secondary students model what it means to be one united school family.
We believe the students of this community are intelligent, capable, and full of potential. With the right shaping, they will be the future leaders of this country and beyond. At ACS, students learn to think deeply, communicate clearly, and look others in the eye with confidence and respect.
Mr. Watkins reminds us: “If a graduate walks across our stage, and they have not been shown Jesus every day, then we have failed.”
A Faculty Devoted to Discipleship
Our secondary faculty are far more than subject-matter experts—they are passionate mentors who share a vibrant team spirit. They model a joyful and encouraging approach to education, understanding that true impact happens through relationships.
Our teachers operate under a unified calling: to delight in the Lord first, and then pour out that love into the classroom. This commitment shapes the "Daily Operation" of our upper grades—influencing our advanced academics, intentional discipleship, and the way we guide young men and women into maturity every day.
Academics with Eternal Perspective
At the Middle and High School level, academics at ACS challenge students to transition from absorbing information to analyzing ideas. Our comprehensive program is designed to build a masterful foundation in advanced mathematics, sciences, humanities, and technology, while explicitly teaching critical thinking and logic.
Every single course is taught through the lens of a Biblical worldview. This ensures that as coursework increases in difficulty, students do more than just master complex scholastic concepts—they learn how to discern truth from cultural narrative, connect their faith to real-world applications, and confidently prepare for college, careers, and beyond.
Our curriculum is both rigorous and balanced while being infused with technology as every student is issued a Chromebook. Students already live in the digital age, so we will meet them where they are. Cell phones, however, are not allowed in the classroom to remove distractions. Our students will experience a variety of science labs (including dissections), hands-on projects, service opportunities, relevant field trips, and critical-thinking exercises.
Middle school students can expect about 10 minutes of nightly study in each subject, while high school students can expect about 20 minutes. On Wednesday evenings, adjustments are made to allow families to attend church together. Our focus is not on busywork, but on helping students master core content and apply it in real-life situations. For those who need extra support, we provide instructional assistance, with about 10% of our students taking advantage of this opportunity.

Advanced Placement (AP) courses at ACS provide motivated students with the opportunity to take college-level classes while still in high school. Our AP courses are offered within a Christ-centered environment, where academic excellence and Biblical worldview converge to equip students for future success.
AP courses are nationally recognized for their rigor and depth, and successful completion demonstrates to colleges that a student is ready for higher-level academic work. In addition, students who perform well in AP exams may earn college credit or advanced standing at many universities, saving both time and tuition costs.
Beyond grades, AP classes also carry additional quality points, which means they can positively impact a student’s GPA and class ranking. More importantly, these courses train students to think critically, manage challenging workloads, and prepare for the expectations they will face in college.
In the past, ACS has offered these Advanced Placement courses — Language & Composition, Literature & Composition, Biology, and Calculus. We are considering the addition of a new course — Art.

While we celebrate college acceptances, earned scholarships, and academic data to continually sharpen our instruction, we measure ultimate success through an eternal lens. Success at the secondary level means our students graduate ready to:
