Warrior Rhythms
Education is not just confined to a textbook—it is woven into the shared experiences that shape our community. Our traditions are the anchors of the school year. They are the moments where we pause to have fun, honor generational legacies, serve our neighbors, and worship our Creator together.
Whether it is a kindergartner walking the halls hand-in-hand with a graduating senior, a middle schooler finding deep community at a fall retreat, or a grandparent stepping into a bustling classroom, these rhythms define what it means to be a Warrior.

These moments and traditions are lifelong memories that bind our families together. Explore the unique traditions that make the Alamance Christian School experience so unforgettable:
School-wide Traditions:
- Grandparent’s Day: This cherished, multi-day tradition across our campuses was established so that grandparents join us for lunch, recess, and a peek inside our classrooms.
- Operation Christmas Child: A hands-on ministry opportunity where our entire student body selects, packs and returns shoeboxes full of items for children across this world. This unites our community in sharing the love of Christ.
- Spirit Week: Two weeks a year, themed dress-up days and other festivities are used to build school spirit and create fun in the school culture.
- Homecoming: Taking place in the fall each year, Mr. and Ms. ACS are chosen by the school and announced after a home game. This event strives to bring back alumni to reconnect them with students who are continuing the Warrior Legacy.
- Field Day: These days of fun include friendly competition, community building, and food for the grade bands.
PreK - 5th grade
Community & Helpers: Pumpkin Patch field trips, Community Helpers Week, and the Thanksgiving Luncheon.
Celebrations: The K4 Christmas Program, Easter Egg Hunts, and the End of the Year Preschool Program.
Spiritual & Academic Milestones: Lower and Upper Elementary Chapels (with unique annual themes), the Annual Book Fair, and the Writers' Club Contest.
Creative Arts & Spirit: The Fall Musical (3rd–5th), Spring Program (1st–3rd), Read Across America Spirit Week, and the highly anticipated Sock Hops (Daddy/Daughter & Mother/Son).
The Generational Walk: Kindergartners and seniors put on their gowns and walk the hallways together. It is an incredible visual of the ACS mission and legacy.
The Send-Off: The Fifth Grade Chapel, where students receive a charge from administration and literally sign banners to "pass the torch" to the 4th graders before moving to middle school
Middle & High
Spiritual Retreats: In the fall, middle and high school students attend retreats at separate locations, designed to set the spiritual tone for the year and build deep peer relationships.
The Field Trip Roadmap: Each grade level has its own special trip during the year, and a few are highlighted below:
- 6th Grade: Lazy Five Ranch
- 7th Grade: Old Salem
- 8th Grade: Greensboro Gargoyles game
- 9th Grade: Biltmore Estate
- 10th Grade: USS North Carolina
- 11th Grade: Washington DC
- 12th Grade: The Senior Trip (location varies) & Senior Sneak
National Honor Society: Twice a year, students can be inducted into this society focused on scholarship and character.
The Christian Warrior Award: This award is the most meaningful award given at our end-of-year Awards Day, to recognize Christ-like character and leadership.
